Archives For November 30, 1999

We’re getting a head start on our New Year’s Resolutions!  We’ve given our developer community a fresh, new look, and we feel ten pounds lighter.  Let me give you a tour!

First, we’ve migrated our blog from developer.sugarcrm.com to the Developer Community at https://community.sugarcrm.com/community/developer/pages/dev-blog.  We’re really excited about this change as the community is now your one-stop-shop for everything related to developing on Sugar.  We’ll temporarily be putting new posts on both blogs, but please update your bookmarks now.

UnCon 2016 Recap!

Matthew Marum —  June 20, 2016

Thanks to everyone who attended the UnCon! It was a whirlwind for all of us but I think we have put on the best iteration of this event we have ever had.

In brief, it went so well that there is wide agreement across the company for a significantly expanded event for Sugar Developers at SugarCon next year. So we look forward to seeing you all again for SugarCon in September 2017.

We are gearing up big time for SugarCon so I wanted to give the community a quick update.

UnCon @ SugarCon 2016 Overview

Relaunched SugarCRM Support Site!

Have you had a chance to check out the new SugarCRM Support site? It is awesome. I am in there all the time looking up documentation so the new changes have really made my job easier. The new layout looks great but also organizes the content better and the search functionality has been improved.  This means I can find the information I need that much faster.

On top of that, the new Support site includes a couple of recent additions that are welcome to Sugar newbies and those Sugar Developer veterans who have been around the block.

Based on Sugar Developer community feedback, we have an additional update about the CreateActionsView changes in Sugar 7.7.

CreateActions migration script added to Sugar 7.7 Upgrader

During Sugar 7.7 upgrade, the upgrader will identify existing create-actions view/layout customizations and automatically migrate them to create view/layout.  This is a best effort migration that follows the two steps listed near bottom of this blog post.

If a custom create view/layout already exists, then create-actions changes will not be automatically migrated.

This will mitigate impact of this change for existing Sugar customers.

Global Partner Summit 2015

This year’s SugarCRM Global Partner Summit took place over the course of 2 days last week in Cascais, Portugal.  Partner Summit is an annual opportunity for SugarCRM and our valued business partners (Resellers, Technology partners, Systems Integrators, and OEMs) to get together to share experiences and learn from each other.

Tech Track @ GPS 2015

A few (lucky) engineers and managers from SugarCRM Engineering team and other tech teams such as Support, Operations, Alliances, and Professional Services were on hand to run the GPS Tech Track.  Tech Track provided 2 half days worth of technical presentations and special topic breakout sessions designed specifically for Sugar Developers that work for our partners.

Ultimately, since our Partner Community is so diverse our goal was to create a technical event that helps align everyone on best practices for tooling, dev methodology, quality assurance, and continuous integration/DevOps.  We also included plenty of special topic breakout sessions that allowed partner developers to get deeper on topics that are interesting to them.
